SUCCESS STORIES
Sharing Experience, Strength & Hope ...
I came to 'R' House after spending time in a recovery community in Smithville TX. Never having lived in a sober living situation, I really did not know what to expect. What I found was a great house with the structure and accountability that I needed. I had the freedom to work and go to meetings while still having that comfort zone that allowed me to step out into the world and experience new beginnings. 'R' House gave me the confidence that I could handle 'life on life's terms'. I am now a House Manager at another sober house here in Austin and will be forever grateful for my experiences at 'R' House. I highly recommend this house to anyone who is serious about a new way of life.
In gratitude,
Karen M.

This has been my first attempt with sobriety and R House played a crucial role. I was allowed the freedom I needed, but also had responsibilities to the house. I learned how important time management is, especially relying on public transportation. I needed the tight structure R House provides in order to find the strength within myself that I needed to carry me through life. All the women of the house took their sobriety seriously, and offered tons of support. I was encouraged to pursue my goals and now I volunteer at Communities for Recovery, I have shared my story in front of an audience, and have a future ahead of me.

In July 2017 ... I needed a sober house to stay in for one month that was approved by CPS and Travis County's Family Drug Court. My caseworker told me of an open room at a nice sober house that accepted women with babies. When I arrived, I was pleasantly greeted. I was so refreshed by my calm and comfortable bedroom. R House is a lovely, clean, baby friendly house. My sweet baby, Lilly Pearl, and I stayed for eight months at R House. R House gave me a safe and structured home that helped me learn how to live life sober. I also made lifelong sober friends. I would recommend R House to any woman in early recovery in need of a great sober living home.

I had an amazing experience in this residence. It is a friendly environment. Safe for infants. Very clean home. I recommend this home for women with children who are looking for a safe environment to begin their journey in recovery. The Director and in-home manager are amazing! Not only was I helped in my transformation, I also gained some life long friendships!

I lived at Recovery House with my small children for 5 months, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have a safe, supportive environment for me and my children. I can easily attribute so many personal successes during this time to the structure, community, and support I received from my house manager and house mates during the time I was there. Having come from a pattern of irresponsible choices, I initially didn't realize just how valuable having structure is to recovery, so I am so grateful to have ended up where I did even without that knowledge! All of these things contributed to me learning how to live in the world sober and how to stay sober while living life on life's terms. R House was definitely an integral step in my journey, and I am grateful for the 5 months my children and I were there.

Hello all! I was a resident at the Recovery House ATX and I enjoyed this place very much. It has great structure and I was able to have my kids there and also visits from my other child. I made some friends along the way and it was a great neighborhood and great house.
I do recommend that if you're in recovery, being at a recovery/sober house is very beneficial. I kind of found myself on this journey being in a home like this and now I'm on my own and in my own home.
Thanks so much. I have continued my sobriety ... Anna
